KitchenCraft Porcelain Egg Coddler With Stainless Steel Top

This simple designed egg coddler cooks the egg inside of it with the stainless steel top, similar to poached eggs. All you have to do is break the egg into the coddler, lock the lid in place and boil it until your desired firmness. Experimenting can be done by adding bacon, cheese, cream or various herbs and spices. Another advantage is that you can just serve it in this beautiful porcelain container while the egg is still slightly cooking.

Brand: Kitchen Craft
Code: KCCODDLE

Care and Use: First wash the porcelain container and stainless steel lid with hot water.
Apply butter, olive oil, or spray for greasing to the porcelain egg coddler.  Crack the egg and place inside the coddler and add spices, cream, grate cheese or whatever you desire. Fold down the cap and tighten clockwise until you hear a click. Partially immerse the egg container in boiling water (the level should optimally reach the half of the container) and cook for about 5-7 minutes or to the desired firmness of the eggs. 5 minutes for a soft boiled egg and 7 minutes for medium boiled. If you add cheese, ham and other ingredients, adjust the time to 6.5 minutes. When the eggs are ready, remove the egg from the water using heat resistant gloves and making sure the lid firmly holds on the porcelain coddler. The thread opens counter-clockwise, and if the egg is served directly from the tray, always serve it on the heat-resistant pad. The Egg Coddler is not intended for microwave cooking, it should not be exposed to a direct fire, built on a hot plate, an empty hot pot or glass ceramic plate.
