Sjoerd van der Helm founded Brands Made Sustained and Re-Sack to help reduce waste, protect the environment, and sustainably (or "sustainable") lifestyles. The idea came to him in 2010 when he was in practice in Los Angeles. There he noticed that the government had forbidden the distribution of plastic bags for fruit and vegetables, which are common in everyday shops in Europe. He therefore decided to create Made Sustained and Re-sack brands and distribute products that reduce waste - thermos, bottles, reusable snack bags, lunch and recyclable sachets that are made of organic cotton and playfully replace hundreds of disposable ones.
